I have used Amtrak and always had a good experience and no issues. However, its security freaks me out. It would be helpful if the drivers spoke English. It makes me wonder how they got their driver's license without knowing English. I had one driver work superbly however was upset and I had no way to talk to him and discover what he needed me to do because he didn't talk or get English. Otherwise, the experience is great.

Overall experience was relaxing and took me back to the days when I was younger and used to take the train. Each leg of the journey for us was respectively short - only a few hours - giving us a nice view through the big windows. Penn Station had not really changed over the years - Hamilton was a nice "hometown" station, Trenton was small as well and the station at DC was amazing. (Beautiful architecture and easy to transit.) Only a few steps from our hotel in DC. The trains were clean and ran on time, stations were average with the exception of DC (wow!) - I understand they are not owned by Amtrak but wanted to add this in. On board each of the trains - the staff were polite and professional - we selected the business class car for the journey to DC and pleased we did - a little more leg room and very quiet. Would love to do the West Coast to East Coast journey sometime. This was my wife's first trip to the US and it gave her a few hours of seeing the landscape and beauty of the US - and of course the inner city and city views as well.

My mother and I enjoy the travel and elegant and a hot tasty meal. Our trip was special. We got on the train in Grand Junction Co... just an overnight trip to Glenwood Springs and back. The train arrived shortly before 5 min. We were met by the conductor who was very considerate... even helping my traveling companion up the stairs on to the train.Good customer service they do reply back to you.In all, the train is a decent mode of transportation if you like having room.It makes the experience greater.

We took the Amtrak from Back Bay Station Boston to Penn Station NYC. We were going with two large substantial cases. We found the leaning back seats to a great comfortable and delighted in some excellent view as we wound our way through parts of Rhode Island and Connecticut. The train left speedily and touched base at Penn Station at the given time. Got some hot chocolate in the dining rail together with a breakfast bite and found the woman serving there was friendly just like the various Amtrak staff we experienced on the day.
