Travel Sites

The one sounds rather broad. Indeed, it is, as travel could be anywhere in the world, at any time, and with anyone. That is the beauty of getting out and about, everyone has their favorite, preferred destinations, and some folks are completely up for an adventure.

When planning a trip, as we mentioned, the options are endless and as such this post could attempt to touch on everything (resulting in a read that would take days to get through). As such, we’re going to hit the most popular, well reviewed websites out there that will get you to where you want to go, safe and sound.

First up is Airbnb, a classic by this point but still relatively new in the travel game. Airbnb was created in 2008 and understandably unknown. In fact, it was strapped with $40,000 in debt with little plans to escape. Yet, a brainstorming session took place and an inventive way to raise money surfaced. In 2020 Airbnb has roughly 1.5 million listings and a $20.1 billion valuation. With 34,000 cities represented over 190 countries and 19 offices worldwide, Airbnb is far from their $40,000 debt days. The company specializes in the rental game and one can find anything from a beach house to a shared space, a mobile home or even a castle if that’s your fancy. The reviews are authentic because they are based on rental interactions. What’s better than that?

An alternative to Airbnb is a company known as HomeAway. This service is quite similar but a bit more boutique in nature. Picture those more foofy getaways, sourcing from sites such as VRBO and VacationRentals.com. Another major difference is HomeAway does not control the rental experience. You may process payments with them but that’s about it. If you’re seeking a site that is literally “all-inclusive,” offering everything under one roof, look no further than Kayak. Rental cars, hotel rooms, flights, it’s all on Kayak. The site is also well-known for its ability to provide up-to-date pricing trends via predictive algorithms. You can monitor real time price fluctuations and decide accordingly how to manage them. Another cool feature are Kayak’s travel alerts. An email is sent once a deal pops up for your destination and you can then reply to pull the trigger or simply monitor the situation.

Lastly, Momondo. Not only is it fun to say - Momondo – say it again three times quickly. It’s exhilarating, right? You bet, and the site is also a snap to use and like Kayak contains an extremely intuitive meta search engine for pricing flights, cars, hotels and more. You can’t book flights directly on Momondo, but you can use it in conjunction with Kayak and others to ensure the best deal is being had.

You can’t go wrong with any of these four. Take a chill pill and relax, traveling doesn’t need to be stressful, enjoy the adventure and leave the planning to the pros.

I am in love with these travel sites that give all inclusive services! I have used Kayak's travel services one year ago and it was super refreshing. I mean they really do have a number of options. I think such companies are doing great nowadays, it simply makes getting away from home hassle free and convenient.
