Men’s Shoe Brands

Men’s Shoe Brands

We’ve talked shoes before. And while your scribe has a self-confessed obsession, the idea is not to get too crazy with this post. Instead of giving you an overview of the men’s shoe niche, we’re going to dive right into the brands. Don’t judge us by the order. We’re flying off the cuff here, breaking down some winner, and putting you on a path for shoe excellence.

Men’s shoes come in all styles. We’re going to present a list that takes into account formal wear, athletic wear, boat, casual, etc. and beyond.

Kenneth Cole

Kenneth Cole is one of the best, if not the best (affordable) formal men’s shoe brands. We place “affordable” in parentheses because some formal brands out there are outrageous, from a price perspective. If something is formal, that refers to work or weddings. Kenneth Cole has other amazing lines of footwear, but they excel in the formal sector. A great pair of formal, Kenneth Cole shoes is not going to run you over $200. They have some real high-end values, but you can get away with a beautiful pair of $175 shoes, no problem.

Nike

No men’s shoe list is complete without them. You knew that already, and Nike has taken their original sport design and merged into everything from soccer cleats to flip-flops. The Oregon monster hit the market with their iconic Air Max’s, made some waves with the VaporMax, and both have propelled Nike to new heights. Nike, like Adidas, is a giant in the sports sphere. These two are at the top of the food chain, and speaking of Adidas …

Adidas

The most exciting part about Adidas is the Kanye West (Yeezy) collaboration. West entered the scene a handful of years ago and proposed an incredible collaborative example. His design was entirely out of left-field, and while there were many naysayers, Adidas pushed forward and now knocking on Nike’s front door. Adidas has also re-introduced their Stan Smiths model, which have taken off unexpectedly (or perhaps expectedly).

Timberland

Timberland hit the market with a work boot, and the rest was history. Never did a work-related item cause such a stir. Timberland boots were functional, but also looked amazing! Timberland is a brand you can trust, their materials are second to none, and with everything from boat shoes to chukkas, Chelsea boots and more, Timberland continues to innovate and push the envelope. Your loyal scribe has them always on the lookout.

Clarks

The difference between Timberland and Clarks is minimal at best. They’re both exceptional shoe companies with very similar products. Clarks rest their reputation on comfort. The look and feel is similar to Timberland, but their original style and how Clarks positions its shoes from a marketing perspective is very different.

The best way to describe Clarks is naturally-trustworthy. You’re getting a shoe that is connected to nature, and one you can trust to serve your footwear needs over the long-term.

Sketchers

And lastly, a stalwart on the shoe scene, none other than … Sketchers! Love them or hate them, Sketchers has carved out a sizeable niche in the men’s shoe world. Hit singers such as Camila Cabello have jumped on board, and the brand that made a name for itself with cushioned soles is here to stay.

Sketchers has released a series of walking and casual shoes and has also made inroads with the senior citizen segment. Who would have thought that an athletic shoe brand could capture this audience? Sketchers has, and kudos to them, nobody saw that coming.

Wow, there are a host of other brands we could dive into, but alas, we all have word limits. If you don’t have a pair or three of any of these, you’re missing out. Classics that will stand the test of time, no doubt.
