Dentures and Dental Implant Solutions

Remember your first kiss? A super awkward time, feeling the desire to plant one on someone you have feelings for but you’re a kid, full of insecurities, not really equipped with the knowledge on how to appropriately make the move, having to harken back to movies for tips but the problem is, you’re not Brad Pitt!

Well, first kisses are awkward for everyone so keep your chin up. And if you’re 39 and it still hasn’t happened, keep that chin firm and steady, it should happen any day now, we just know it. Ok, dentures and dental implants are loosely related to kisses, but the link here is appearance. If you need dentures of dental implants, the science behind the practicality is there, but you also want them to look good. Remember, kissing is important til the day you die, and never forget it!

Once you’ve decided that you’re ready to outfit your mouth with some new toys, there are a handful of items to consider. First, the number of procedures. Depending on your bone structure and the number of teeth you’ll need to extract, undergoing more than one procedure is likely. If you go full implants, then it is almost guaranteed you will need to see a dentist and a doctor which will obviously take time. Next, dentures or implants? Implants will take longer to prepare because of the number of procedures you’ll need to undergo. Take this into consideration because some time off work is going to be necessary. Lastly, the manufacturer’s location. Many dentists have an in-house lab where the dentures are repaired and manufactured where others will outsource this to an offsite manufacturer. Those that do this onsite will typically be quicker and if anything goes wrong coming back to them with more technical, product related questions will be easier to navigate.

Now, the tricky part. If you thought the medical part of this was tricky, try paying for them! Dental insurance will only get you so far unfortunately, so ask your dentist to give you a pre-treatment estimate to forward on before leaping into anything. Direct financing is an option, as some practices will offer this to patients. Payment plans and credit are typical in this arena and can be negotiated as well. There are things called medical credit cards, perhaps you’ve heard of them. These exist solely to handle medical expenses and many times will offer special, introductory interest rates for new customers. And lastly, out-of-pocket. Not really an option, we get it, but if none of the above work for you, out of your pocket the funds will come.

The benefits of either are extensive – better oral health, ease in chewing, cosmetic benefits. And of course, kissing, what’s more important than that, ladies and gentlemen!
