Cleaning Services
A couple true stories – first, had a maid start and she was a great interview. Bubbly, claimed to be a fantastic cook, liked the kid and pets, had a knack for organization, the whole shebang. Fast-forward 2 weeks and the fish nearly died because they were overfed, the curtains were stained because they were washed on a power cycle, and the food, well, not much more we can say but … disastrous.
The question after all this was, “did she simply lie?” Some people have no qualms about it, will lie until they’re blue in the face. The other possibility is she indeed thought she was a high performer in each of the previously mentioned categories, but alas, fell short. Either scenario could be true, but this is all in a long-winded way to say, cleaning services are not an easy fix so when you get a good one, hang on for dear life.
While we can all accept that good cleaning services are not easy to come by, that does not mean you shouldn’t be actively looking. In 2020 the larger cleaning service arena has blown up, principally due to one thing – people work a lot. Nowadays it is quite common to find both men and women in a relationship with full time jobs. The house is typically empty during the day and families with kids have said kids likely returning home before they do, and if the kids are anything like most kids, they make an absolute mess.
Ask any psychologist and they will tell you that a clean house is good for the soul. It is tough to work, enjoy some down time, or simply relax when things are untidy. There is a reason why cleaning services are in such high demand, because aside from needing to keep the house clean, most people want to keep the house clean. A simple Google search will yield a host of cleaning services in your general neighborhood. The good ones will have reviews attached to them and perhaps some snazzy websites to go along with it. But prior to simply clicking, making an appointment and paying the first month, call said service and request an interview with the cleaning team that would come to your home.
Many companies will offer this, but you’d be surprised how many don’t. If they don’t however that doesn’t mean they’re hiding anything. Rather, they might have simply forgotten or weren’t sure if you needed the reassurance. In an odd way the good companies already assume people know they’re good and thus do not need to prove it. Second, talk to someone that has used the service before. We sound like a broken record, but if a friend liked them, odds are you will too.
And finally, make sure after the first couple weeks you aren’t locking yourself into a long-term deal. Try the company out but give yourself some leeway to escape if need be. Having dead fish and over-washed curtains is no walk in the park.
Cleaning services is one majorly needed service now. To be honest, it sometimes becomes a necessity to hire external help to keep the house clean. I and my husband, we both work and it gets so hectic to deep clean our house. I often reach out to these companies but man this is absolutely right, where i have had good experiences, I have also had some terrible ones. So guys, make sure you get the best ones out there!
Cleaning service providers are like silver lining in the clouds. I used to be a clean freak all my life but after I fractured my tailbone and leg in an accident almost 3 years ago, deep cleaning my 5 bedroom house seemed to be an uphill task for me. It literally gave me anxiety and panic attacks for not being able to properly clean every inch of my house before Christmas. My friend suggested to hire a cleaning service provider and they were excellent. I wish I could call them every month but they are a bit expensive.
