Closet Organizers

Closet Organizers

If there was any post you could guarantee would apply to everyone, in some fashion, it’s this one. Even the most organized of us need more organization. Now, there is an overboard version of this that is plain unhealthy, but the following are just a handful of tips that if applied will radically change your life (organizationally speaking).

Strategic Hanging

Sounds morbid, how to off yourself in a thoughtful, strategic fashion. Just kidding, we’re talking the hanging of clothes and at the core of strategic hanging is order. It’s very easy to mix blouses, tops, skirts, pants etc. all together. You’re in a hurry and simply hang and go. However, by taking the time to separate clothes – shirts first, blouses second, pants third, etc., you’ll never have to “look” for anything ever again. It’s in its section, guaranteed.

Wicker Baskets

Baskets of all types and sizes are utilized to better organize closets. However, many of us have open closets, closets without doors that are essentially open for all to see. The wicker basket is ideal for these types of closets because the basket on its own is a piece of art. That might be a stretch, but they look nice is what we’re trying to say. So, mixing in some wicker basket will keep items separate and better organized, and turn your closet into an art piece!

Wasted Wall Space

We all have it, space on the wall that is not being used, should be used, sits there blankly and cries out, “use me, for the love of …!” Many closets feature small separations between closets, a wall space that can easily serve as a spot to hang ties, scarves, belts or similar accessories. Many of us hang these same items on hangers, etc., but by using the wall space you’ve just liberated up to 25% of your closet space in a snap.

Boot Organizer

Boot or shoe organizers are ever-prevalent. They come in all shapes and sizes but by far the most strategic and efficient design we’ve seen is the vertical hanging organizer that clasps on to the top of boots thus allowing them to hang vertically, side-by-side (a pair). From the top of your closet bar to the bottom of the floor 5 pairs will easily fit. These are boots that would normally be occupying the bottom of the closet, taking up much needed space. For wicker baskets perhaps.

Lift that Rod

Lastly, the hanging rod is usually placed by contractors in the same place, at the same height, in every closet. We rightly question this – why? Why does this rod need to be at the same height? Is there some sort of rod standard we are unaware of? By simply raising the height of the rod you can then place a dresser below the hanging clothes which can obviously now store up to 50% more than the space that was previously available.
